After months of hard work, eight finalist teams from around the world are packing their bags to come to Austin, TX, to pitch their ideas on how to redesign our food system.
Winnowed down from nearly 2,000 participants from over 70 countries, these eight teams wowed our Biomimicry Global Design Challenge judges with their unique, thoughtful, and deeply sustainable innovations.
Along with the Ray C. Anderson Foundation, we'll be awarding prizes to three teams in Austin, at a biomimicry celebration and awards event on October 4. As finalists, they are invited to join the first-ever food system-focused biomimicry accelerator, where they'll have incubation support and mentorship to help prototype their designs. At the end of the accelerator, one winning team will receive the Ray C. Anderson Foundation's $100,000 "Ray of Hope" Prize.
It all starts now. Read more about the finalist teams' innovations here.
